At it's simplest, The Fellowship By Franz Kafka is about a group five friends who tolerate but don't let in a sixth person into their group. Even with it's two page length, it has a so much stronger meaning lying underneath. It talks our society and how we don't let people we don't into our own lives. We stay with the people we like and think nothing else of it.
Often, we push away others because we don't want to let them in. And often we become that person that others push away yet we still do it. We stay with the people we know because it would take too much to tell others all the jokes and stories but it doesn't. If only we as a society opened to others we'd open a door to wonders we never even knew. One day we'll open our doors but for now their will always be closed. |
